Install and open SubsTrack

SubsTrack runs on Windows, Android, iPhone and iPad, and Mac. On first launch a short introduction explains how the app keeps your data private; tap Next or Skip.

On Windows, SubsTrack lives in the system tray. Click the tray icon to open it, use Pin as window to keep it open like a normal app, and turn on Start with Windows or Desktop shortcut from the tray menu or Settings.

Create your account

Sign in with your email and password, or create an account. New accounts receive a verification email; open the link, then sign in. You can also create an account or sign in on the web at your SubsTrack account page.

Use the same account on every device you own. Your subscriptions themselves are never readable by the account server.

Set up your private vault

Your subscriptions are stored in an encrypted vault on the device. Unlock it with Windows Hello, Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or your device PIN. In Settings → Encryption & security choose how long the app stays unlocked after you leave it: immediately, after 1 minute, or after 5 minutes.

Choose the service

Tap + on Home. Search the catalog of popular services, which come with their logos. For anything else, choose Custom subscription, enter its name and website; SubsTrack can fetch the logo from that website, or you can upload your own.

Enter what you pay

Enter the amount and currency, then pick a weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly or custom billing cycle. Set the next payment date to the renewal shown by the provider. SubsTrack keeps upcoming dates in the future and shows the charges that follow.

Add details and reminders, then save

Optionally add a free-trial end date, plan name, account nickname, category, payment method, notes, and management or cancellation links. Choose how many days before renewal to be reminded, then tap Save.

Turn on notifications

Open Settings → Notifications, switch them on and allow notifications when your device asks. Choose the default days in advance and the time of day. Notifications use generic text unless you choose to show amounts.

Confirm your payments

On a renewal day SubsTrack asks Did you pay?. Tap Paid to record the payment and move to the next date, Not paid to keep it, or Remind later to be asked again in 3 hours, until the end of the day. Renewals you missed in the last 7 days are asked about too. The To confirm tile on Home opens any that are waiting.

Read the summary

The tiles on Home show your monthly spend (tap to switch to what is due this month), how many renewals are due this week and how many payments are waiting to be confirmed. Each subscription is a bubble: tap it for details, Mark as paid or Edit; press and hold to move it.

Plan with the calendar and insights

Calendar marks every renewal and trial end; switch between month and agenda views. Insights shows your spending trend by month, and each subscription’s edit page shows its payment history and how long you have tracked it.

Import from a bank statement

Choose Import from a bank statement and pick a CSV file exported from your bank. SubsTrack finds recurring payments, matches them to known services and lets you choose which to add. The file is read on your device and never uploaded.

Add a widget

On Android, add the SubsTrack widget from your home screen’s widget list (small or large). On iPhone, add it from the widget gallery and use the Siri shortcut to open SubsTrack. For privacy, widgets show how many renewals are coming up, never service names or amounts.

Hide amounts and lock the app

Turn on Privacy mode from the ⋯ menu on Home to hide amounts on screen. The vault locks when you leave the app (after the delay you chose), and on iPhone a privacy cover hides the app in the app switcher.

Change how it looks

In Settings → Appearance choose the theme (light, dark or match system), Monochrome logos, wallpaper colours on Android, and Reduce motion.

Choose a plan

Open Settings → Choose your plan. Yearly costs €9.99 per year and starts with a 7-day free trial; Lifetime is a single payment of €19.99. Prices in other currencies are shown in the app. Purchases will be available through the App Store, Google Play and our website.

Redeem a code

On Windows, go to Settings → Redeem code and enter your code. On iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac, redeem it on your account page: sign in, enter the code, then open SubsTrack and tap Restore purchase on the plan screen.

Use Pro on all your devices

Pro belongs to your account. On any other device, sign in with the same account and tap Restore purchase.

Edit a subscription

Open its bubble and tap Edit to change the price, cycle, next date, reminders or links. Recording a new price keeps the old one in the price history.

Pause, cancel or plan to cancel

Set the tracking status to Active, Paused, Cancelled or Archived, or mark it Plan to cancel to get a reminder before the next charge and a link to the provider’s cancellation page. A status in SubsTrack does not change your billing: cancel or pause with the provider itself.

Reminders do not appear

Check that notifications are on in SubsTrack and allowed for SubsTrack in your device settings, and that battery or focus modes are not silencing them. On Windows, keep SubsTrack running in the tray.

I cannot sign in

Verify your email first using the link we sent, and check your spam folder. Forgot your password? Use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page.

I changed or lost my device

Sign in on the new device with the same account and unlock your vault with your recovery shares. Still stuck? Email support@subs-track.app.

Delete your account

Open Settings → Delete account and type DELETE to confirm. This permanently deletes your account, synced data and Pro, and removes your subscriptions from that device. A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play must be cancelled in your store account.
